I moved to downtown Brooklyn a month ago with my boyfriend and we’ve been slowly decorating our place. I’m not sure we have anything resembling a unified aesthetic, but we both like industrial looking stuff and things from 60s and early 70s. (The walls are also decorated with a bunch of LIFE magazines from those periods, mostly covers about the Kennedy assassination and things with pro-Nixon headlines.)
This was a sign for a cosmetics company that was formerly in a hair salon on Schermerhorn and the owner didn’t want it anymore. It’s incredibly kitschy but the woman has an appealing Grace Jones badass thing going on and oh my god, it lights up. I think it may be my favorite thing in the apartment.
