I’m looking to expand social coverage a bit at the Observer, and want to start by trying out new freelance writers.
I don’t care if you have experience doing party coverage, but I need the reports to be smart and funny. (And if you’re a funny writer generally, I may have some other assignments as well.)
So if you’re interested, send me a resume and a write-up of an event (any event; I don’t care) that captures the scene, what people are talking about, who’s there, what’s happening, etc. I don’t care that much about whether you adhere to the traditional party-reporting formula; I’m mostly looking for wit and style.
You can email me at espiers AT gmail.
